IntroductionThe Westermo SDI-880 is a new generation 8-port compact Fast Ethernet switch. It is equipped with 2 a Gbit/s packet switch engine that can handle data packets of 64 to 1552 bytes and also supports 2 priority queues to provide optimum data forwarding performance. In addition to enhanced network performance, both broadcast storm filtering and flow control functions ensure congestion free data traffic delivery.
To ensure functionality in industrial networks, the SDI-880 is equipped with 2 redundant power inputs capable of handling a wide input voltage range thus avoiding any issues with power interruption. The unit is designed to operate between –34 to +70ºC. For easy monitoring the Westermo SDI-880 has one alarm-relay contact to provide indication of port link and power fail events to assist engineers with notification of problems from field installations.
The SDI-880 requires no configuration prior to initial use and is functional almost immediately on power up making it a simple product to install and use. The Westermo SDI-880 can operate on voltages of 10 V~48 V. Reverse power polarity protection and 1.5 KV Hi- Pot isolation protection provides superior protection in demanding industrial environments.
