Introduction

The FS5B and FS6H fibre optic connectors are ideally suited for harsh operating environment applications in the oil and gas industry requiring high-density optical interconnects.

The FS5B & FS6H design utilizes the latest technology in fibre optic connectivity by incorporating industry standard physical contact ceramic ferrules and alignment sleeves.

The FS5B and FS6H connectors are designed to accept a wide variety of cable options such as tactical, armored and sheathed, rodent proof and fire resistant (Upgraded IEC 331) cables to meet your specific application. In addition, the FS5B and FS6H fibre Optic connectors can be combined with of-the-shelf cable glands and wire mesh strain reliefs for maximum mechanical robustness and protection.

Hermaphroditic Design for Versatility - Enables multiple plug assemblies to be daisy-chained.
Removable End Cap - Allows for easy field maintenance and cleaning.

Superior Cable Retention Strength - Designed to meet 400lb. pull strength while protecting fibres from stress.
PTFE Impregnated Hard Anodized Coating - Provides substantial longevity to corrosive environments in matte or glossy finish. Meets new mandate set by Environmental Protection Agency for elimination of heavy metal plating and is RoHS compliant.
Commercial Ceramic Ferrule Technology - Enables connector to provision multimode and single mode interconnect with a variety of polishes including SPC and UPC.
Solid Core Alignment Sleeves - More robust than split alignment sleeves.
Hermaphroditic Dust Cap - Plug and/or receptacle dust caps connect together to prevent dust and moisture penetration during deployable conditions.
Optional Key Positions - Four key positions (1,2,3, universal) available, enabling segregation of mated plug/receptacles or plug/plug, through mechanical interface.
Field Repairable Using Existing Parts - Additional connector components (other than termini) are not required to perform field repair.
Cable Options - Compatible with a wide assortment of fibre optics cables and commercially available cable accessories.
Also Available in Stainless Steel and Brass - Allows the connector to be used in a variety of applications.
